Curb Your Inteligence: Bystanders at the DNC

July 30, 2004

Chip Franklin, of WBAL Radio in Baltimore was on site this week at the Democratic National Convention.
Here’s his hilarious “Curb Your Intelligence” bits where he asks questions of convention-goers and other bystanders. Listen to how stupid these people are.
Monday: Would it bother you if someone accused your candidate of being bipartisan?
Tuesday: Where do they keep [...]

Kerry Accepts Democratic Nomination

July 30, 2004

Last night, I let myself suffer through Kerry’s Acceptance speech (Transcript)- not because I wanted to, but because I have to. We don’t have cable in our home and all the major networks except FOX were airing it.
Stylistically, the speech was excellent. It appealed to a broad range of people, was eloquent and well-spoken. Anyone [...]

Candidates Websites Vulnerable

July 27, 2004

It’s not surprising that most websites can be exploited easily. If 90% of the world’s sites are created by fly-by-night “web designers” – or rather, those versed enough in Windows to figure out how to use Dreamweaver, or worse yet, Frontpage – then it is no surprise to me that most websites are easily exploitable [...]

iTunes on Cell Phones

July 27, 2004

Apple Computer and Motorola have signed a deal to put Apple’s iTunes music service on cell phones.
The new service will allow users to transfer songs from their computers to Motorola mobile handsets.

Gotta say, I can’t imagine myself listening to my cell phone in exchange for a portable music device, but as a loyal iTunes customer, [...]

Free iPods

July 23, 2004

Okay, so here’s the deal. I’ve been wanting an iPod for some time, especially for Navy life. You can’t beat having 5000+ songs at your fingertips when you’re on deployment out on a boat somewhere. Unfortunately, iPods run close to $300 or more.
I came across Jeff’s blog entry today talking about a way to [...]

Indeed, Sex does drive Google Rankings Up

July 23, 2004

I could double my website hits if I was indexed by Google for mentioning sex – I’m sure of it.
I can agree with this because I have witnessed it here on Technosailor. Including this post, I have three entries in the Sex category. All three are benign. Neither are what would be classified [...]

Comcast Security Flaw

July 23, 2004

Lockergnome is reporting today, on a security flaw discovered in its Webmail feature. Apparently, the client allows for the possibility of ActiveX and Java scripts to be run, including remote malicious scripts. The biggest danger, I would think, would be in the possibility of remote execution of keyloggers.
Supposedly, this has been resolved, but users should [...]

Microsoft Stock Buyback

July 22, 2004

Author’s Note: Please note this is a guest post by me, Jeremy C. Wright. These opinions are mine, and not Aaron’s, so go easy on him. Feel free to visit my blog at Ensight, or not. Either way I hope to post here occasionally to free you from Aaron’s obvious anti-Microsoft slant ;-)

As you can see, I’m currently working on a new layout that I’m calling Rust. Things are still a little out of sorts but I’m slowly getting there.

Technosailor has a new home

July 20, 2004

Yes indeed. I didn’t buy a domain name initially, because I have been really unsuccessful starting and staying with blogging in the past. It seems to me that I am doing well with Technosailor, so I’ve moved it to a new home at Technosailor.com!
Still working out some last minute mod_rewrite issues that are preventing me [...]
