    Actually, I think the biggest reason I’d like to see Kerry elected is to see if any anti-American sentiment I’m harbouring IS because of Bush or if it’s bigger than that ;-)

    While I don’t agree that it is in our best interest to do this I think we need to look back as to why this was built into the Constitution. At time of its writing the Framers wanted to make sure that no one from a foreign country could come in, become President, and take over the country. At first the requirements were the same for Congress but were changed because of the immigration. The President requirements were never changed because they felt that if you were going to be President you needed to be a full blown American citizen. No problem with that.

    What I think they could do is make the number of years something like 20-30 yrs. citizenship. But that’s pretty much my limit for ever letting this happen.
