Blogs That Might’ve Been

Posted by: Aaron Brazell

Due to some unfortunate situations, here are a list of blogs I like and have been reading, but due to my self imposed guidelines I won’t be adding to my blogroll.

The Dynamist - Very cool conservative chick who has been blogging the Iraqi elections. She doesn’t make the cut because she doesn’t allow commenting. Damn shame.

Sports Central - Marc James runs a great site with lots of great sports commentary. Until he lends me a writer to start blogging sports, it’s out of my genre. But I still read regularly.

Matt Thornton - I must admit only begginning to read Matt today. I didn’t realize this old friend of mine had a blog. Now I do. Too personal for blogrolling, but will be reading.

Alan Walden’s “Walden Ponderings” - I listen to his commentary everyday on the radio and it is very inspiring and probative. Unfortunately, his blog is not a blog or I’d link.

LOL. Too personal eh? And that's one thing I've been trying not to do with it! Hah.

But yeh, I guess I don't have much of a focus in the blog.

I really need to convert my RSS feeds folder in Firefox into a blogroll...

      :)

Hey -- Michelle Malkin doesn't allow comments on her blog, and she's in your blogroll -- what's up with that? Hmmm?

True, Carol. I've thought about that. Michelle at least allows trackbacks which is probably how I justify it. :)

Matt, yeah I'd love to add you. Just a tad bit of cohesiveness is needed though.... I'm sure I can find a way to justify you too though. :)

Oooo! I'll add Matt. Cute, plays the drums, can tussle with a group of nasty men.

Come on now Aaron...surely you can bend the rules for Matt?

Oh -- and the Dynamist chick -- Matt's cuter. ;-)

Anyway -- she does allow trackbacks -- it's in really tiny letters under each post - "link/print".

HEY! I am NOT crazy. A bit...different, yes. But definitely not..dangerous or anything.

Aaron...I didn't know you played the guitar. Guitar players...hmmm...

There's a lovely Ibanez sitting right in my basement. I really need to learn how to play. I wanna be a rock star.

Ruh Roh, Guitars have entered the picture..... Nevermind those drummers, they have an ego only cuz they think they lead the beat....pffffttttt ;)

Ibanez are good guitars, I have played jacksons, gibsons, and Fenders, i would love to get my hands on a Parker, but they don't make them for lefty's :(

Carol, shame on you for letting that Ibanez sit there without picking it up, it needs a friend every day :)

        Twitter Pitch!

Twitter pitching is a form of pitch that requires succint "what does this mean for me" kind of pitching. It is the ultimate efficiency of words. You have 140 characters or less to tell me why your pitch matters to me or my readers. Please include a means of contacting you. This is included in your 140 characters. If you send successive pitches, you will likely be ignored, unless it's obvious that the first pitch was a case of "accidental send", etc.

This form of pitching does not mean I'm being a diva. It means that my time is valuable, and you want a piece of it. It's good practice for you, and delivers your pitch in a format I want. Win-win.
