Wittling Away
I’ve taken the past semester off from school as I’ve gotten very close to reaching the 2-year degree mark and heading off into the 4-year degree. When you get as close as I am, you have to get selective in what you take and when you work full time, it becomes even more critical to be selective about time frames as well.
Last semester, none of the final five classes met my requirements. Now that summer semesters will be starting soon, I’ve registered for two more classes.
Aye carumba! I’m glad this will only be two months…
The State of Maryland requires alls tudents to take a “Diversity” class — you know the ones. How gay men make wonderful families. How children should should not be taught that something is wrong, just different. How the black man is continually held down by the white man. Same old leftist blase.
Well, I broke down and registered for my diversity class. Ready for this? Human Relations in a Culturally Diverse Society. Yay! I get to learn how to throw away my own cultural identy to embrace someone elses who I don’t believe in! What fun! This is the course description:
Applies psychological principles, theories, and research to a broad range of interpersonal relationships; explores self-understanding, personality, friendship, family, group dynamics, and work relationships; employs cross-cultural research and diverse different cultural perspectives.
Oh yeah, and I also registered for an Introductory Biology class over the web…

We can take all those too, but I had to take classes that 1) I could take for fulfillment of the requirement, 2)they offered during the semester, and 3) offered on nights or weekends.
So that left me with that one…

Hm…m I don’t like social study (because I’m anti social :P :) and always think it’s useless. When I was in school, I took all major classes first and collecting thise SOC, HUM, etc. last.
I hope I won’t get laid off but if it happens, I probably head back to school and finish my degree :/

Considering that i got a BFA from NYU in acting, most would probably consider me a euphorian liberal socialist… so I took “Sexual Diviance in Soceity” as my diversity class… oh, and physcology of art for my psych requirement… but then again, we can all agree that i’m out there… :p
