Yahoo! Please Call Me!

I shouldn’t post this. It’s against my better judgement. Who knows if someone in my chain of command may be reading this and suddenly feel the need to cut me loose. After all. I am pursuing another job.

There’s a position open at Yahoo (unless it’s been filled). It’s a position evangelizing the Yahoo search Developer’s Network. Jeremy Zawodny pointed me in the direction of Jeff McManus, who is the new director of Search at that fine, fine, FINE company. Jeffrey is wanting to hire and I fit the bill. The sad thing is that I would kill to work at Yahoo. The corporate culture is…well, I’ve never heard anything bad and in fact, I’ve heard nothing ut good. The innovativeness of a company on the front line of competition with Microsoft and Google is quite tantalizing. I’ve actually been trying to get Yahoo to call me for a few years but this job is probably the best fit that has come up yet.

I almost had a heart attack when my cell phone rang yesterday and it was a San Jose number. Too bad it wasn’t Yahoo!

So here I am saying “Yahoo! I am at your service. Come hire me! Please!” :) I’ll even make Yahoo my home page if you do!

    I’m assuming you actually APPLIED ;-)

    Also, Jeremy Z is normally pretty good at connecting people, since he gets a nice referral bonus…

    Good luck mate, Yahoo’s one of the companies I’d consider working for as well (one of only 6 probably).

    Kidding of course. Yes, I applied and I’m biding my time waiting on Jeffrey. I sent in my resume last Friday. :)

    1: To see if the little flag thingy comes up with the right country
    2: To mention that the keywords “web website and manly” should reasonably point to a certain “before all the others” H site.
