Moving on to Rockville

Thursday afternoon, there was an incident at work. But let me back up. I have been in a political hailstorm at work since the first day on this job. The customer hasn’t liked me and quite honestly, I don’t like them. Much to their disappointment, they didn’t have a choice as to whether I was there or not. On Thursday, there was an incident where a high profile woman who I will simply call Ms. Freak Out due to her high stress level and tendency to come into a room in a huff and drain all the energy from the room as she demands everyone drops what they are doing and pay attention to her (figuratively speaking).

When Ms. Freak Out pulled one of her antics with me as I assisted another user, I refused to engage her in her game. I simply answered the question she was asking without drama or other flair, which she did not like. Asking the question several more times, in several different ways, my same answer only further enraged her. And I didn’t care.

After some discussions with my coworkers and bosses, and them talking among each other, it was determined that I’ll be moving over to the Rockville office. It’s a win, win, win for all parties involved. It’s a longer commute for me but it is reputed to be a much healthier environment.

We’ll see.

I think you’ll like the building, it’s pretty new and they’ve just moved into it… I think Jay is there also…

I think it’s a “win-win situation” as you put it, there’s no point in working with people (or one person) which is totally off track…better luck at the new office!
