I get a number of these type of comments. Is there a way to stop them? It’s basically just SPAM…

Mark it as spam in your comment moderation. If you don’t have comment moderation, you should turn it on and look into one of the many WordPress Anti-spam plugins.

I have comment moderation and normally delete them. If I mark them as spam will that prevent them for reocurring?

Theoretically. That’s the idea anyway.

Have you got sK2 by Dr Dave ? go get it
http://unknowngenius.com/blog/wordpress/spam-karma/dev/
Then go get Badbehaviour by IO error
http://www.ioerror.us/software/bad-behavior/
Both these work very well.
Hope this helps ?

I use DNS-Anti-Spam which compares IP addresses to known blacklist spammers. That and comment moderatin and I rarely have anything sneak through. It’s the true war on terrorism.

I use MT Blacklist with my site and am getting hit with a spam URL and then some random characters after it. It’s hard to block this stuff since it’s truly random and gets past a lot of the blacklist rules.
