One thing many forget is the animals. Dogs were tied up and cats left in the houses. There are very few pictures, but the ones you see are heartbreaking - the guy pulling his dog out of a doghouse that was flooded got me the most. Why didn't he bring the dog inside. I plan on giving to the Humane Society and doing what I can to help the animal rescue effort.

Well said, Aaron. Hope all is well out there. Like you said, I cannot fathom what the people are going through in Louisiana, Mississippi & Alabama. Watching CNN and Fox News, the experience I have had watching the news has lead me to moments of hope, angst, sorrow & benvolence.

One thing left unsaid due to this tragedy, in light of the war, the rise in gas prices and other little things we nitpick about, is to appreciate life and everyday you wake up.

If the readers can, donate to the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army or any organizations in need and that can supply help to the victims of Katrina.

Off to see the O's up at Fenway this weekend.

- Anthony
