Finally
This is biased, but what we are seeing today from the U.S. Military operations in Louisiana. Sure the orders came 72 hours late, but finally we are seeing the proof that the greatest fighting force in the world, capable of delivering destruction with deadly precision, overthrowing the Taliban in Afghanistan in under 6 weeks after 9/11 and flushing out insurgency in Fallujah in a mere four days is now demonstrating uncompromised resolve and efficiency in rescue work in New Orleans.
The New Orleans Convention Center, which as recently as last night was a hell hole of rape, murder, stench and disease was released from it’s hellish existence this morning. An air bridge of Marines, Navy, Army, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard Choppers has been in place since this morning rivaling, as one reporter said, the famous Berlin Airlift.

Seeing the satillite pics is jaw dropping. It’s amazing how the Internet has really made this event…public. There’s blogs, images all from first hand accounts. This is really the first event in history the masses have been able to follow with such clarity, if you can call it that.

We all know our military can get the job done… Are we sure the orders were late, or did the Feds need to wait until their assistance was requested? When did the governor of Louisiana request the aid? Diaster relief is suppose to be the responsibility of the local and state authorities and the Feds don’t get involved until their aid is requested. In this disater the local New Orleans authorities and the Louisian state authorities failed miserably… But of course it’s George Bush’s fault. Also, whose responsiblity is it to ensure you and your family get out of harms way when you are told to evacuate? Our brave military and other rescue personnel are risking their lives to save the idiots, looters and thugs who decided on their own to stay…

As posted on other blogs, I am not allow to make any comments about the government warning to at least stock up, but being blamed for not being there on time.
An interesting note – the rescuers are there to help people leave and people STILL aren’t leaving.
