Very sweet little FireFox hack. Apparently, I’m not the only one who has been disgruntled over the lack of popup blocking recently by the browser that excels in that area. Now I know why and now I know the fix. Here’s the fix.
- In the address bar, type about:config (power users of Firefox are aware of this config page already)
- Right-click on the page and select New > Integer
- Name it privacy.popups.disable_from_plugins
- Set the value to 2
Excellent trick. Thanks to Mark for the tip.

Can you help?
We have a B2B website which uses legitimate popups.
However, I cannot find a setting in Firefox that allows this Popup to Popup.
I have also tried the Popup allow add-on still no luck.
Site is designed for IE and works fine but I have a customer who has a Linux/Firefox environment.
Any Suggestions appreciated
Thanks

Suggestions.
1) Redesign without popups. Google and Yahoo toolbars for IE also block popups. In my book, there is no legitimate reason for popups.
2) Redesign not for IE. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER design only for IE. Ever!
