Quitting Smoking: Day 5
Hey people–
Good news, I guess. It’s been five days and I have not touched a cigarette. The worst of the withdrawal seems to have passed. My sleep patterns seem to have returned to normal. My heart only races immediately after putting the patch on. My cravings have subsided. They haven’t gone away as I still have a once a day tightness in the chest, sweating fits, shaking of the hands. I have replaced the “activity” of smoking with the activity of chewing sunflower seeds, which I have to say is growing a little ols. :
Remember the request for topics so I could make song mixes? Well, I made my own request.
Request: I’m trying to quit smoking and I’m dying over here!

keep on man, i stopped smoking one year ago, and i stick a nicotine pad on my body, but only for one day. for the starting day. and i started dancing for one week long and i am still not smoking. my wife said i was very awfull 2 weeks long and now everything is ok. now, i must try to drink less wine.

I’m keeping a blog of my experiences too, just trying to stay sane. Hang in there. No reason to put any more $ in the Philip Morris pockets! Keep it for yourself or give it away.

yeah, I’m on day 8 right now and it’s pretty tough. I’ve been experimenting with going significant periods of time without the patch and it seems to be okay. When I hit the first hard cravings during those times, I slap a patch on for 24 hours.
