NYC Bound

I’m leaving for New York City to meet Jeremy Wright for a few days. As previously mentioned, Jeremy was invited as a “press representative” to AdTech, the conference for marketing with technology. I tried to get in too, since I was going to meet Jeremy but I was turned down. That’s okay, marketing isn’t my thing anyway. It should be, but it is not.

However, things are beginning to shgape up for the week. Monday night, there’s a blogger meetup at Vergil’s Barbecue on West 44th street. In the off chance folks wanted to come hang out, Jeremy posted the details. It looks like it’s going to be more of the high-profile A,B-list bloggers who are also going to AdTech, but I look forward to meeting some new folks.

It should be a great opportunity for both Jeremy and I to market You Can Blog as well. Maybe puill some bulldozer quality influence behind it and pushing it as well.

I have made a new playlist for the trip. Here’s my own request and playlist:

Request: I’m going to New York City and need some big-city music to describe the trip

Note: New York City is not only my previous home, but a favorite destination of mine. It has many facets – too many to boil down to a single playlist :)

  1. “NYC Weather Report”, by Five For Fighting
  2. “If I had $1,000,000″, by Barenaked Ladies
  3. “Perfect Blue Buildings”, Counting Crows
  4. “Drive In, Drive Out”, by Dave Matthews Band
  5. “Places”, by Blue Merle
  6. “Where the Streets Have No Name”, by U2 (they only have numbers! :-))
  7. “In My Place”, by Coldplay
  8. “Lose Yourself”, by Eminem
  9. “City Love”, by John Mayer
  10. “Ants Marching”, by Dave Matthews Band
  11. “Are You Gonna Go My Way”, by Lenny Kravitz
  12. “Popparazzi”, by Switchfoot
  13. “City of Blinding Lights”, by U2

I’ll be blogging quite a bit while there and finishing up the fifth chapter of my 6. More from the road.

Touché, Maureen! Indeed, I am at Astor Place now, which isn’t quite south of Houston, but it is close! :-)
