Lots of Issues

by Aaron Brazell on November 12, 2005 · 12 comments

Apologies for the downtime, folks. Something about the latest nightly build of WordPress 1.6 broke my blog and it was a few hours before I realized it. :-(

I’ve taken the opportunity to migrate to Textpattern, which I have my issues with, but the issues are liveable.

Much of the functionality of this site is lost until I can replace the plugins that I was using on the WordPress side with Textpattern equivalents. In some cases, I need to rewrite.

Slow but sure. Commenting is disabled for some god-only-knows reason. Once I figure that out, we’ll be set…

What kind of plugins would you like to see from WP in Textpattern?

Hey Reinier—

You offering? ;-)

I’m looking most heavily for a port of Ultimate Tag Warrior because this site relied heavily on tagging and not categories.

I’d also like a Recent Comments plugins that groups comments by discussion, most recent comments on top. I can’t think of what that plugin was. It had a generic name.

Finally, there was Democracy which I had just begun using but was very nice…

:-)

There’s pap_xpoll for polling, though it’s not as web 2.0 as the Wordpress plugin you were using (no AJAX that I’m aware of).

Hey,

I’m not sure if you knew this but… your “about” and “blog-roll” links are non-functional.

And for some reason, when I preview, my comment in the text area dissapears. Leaving only the preview but no way to submit it without copy/pasting. That’s just odd.
