WordPress Plugin: SeasonalCSS for WordPress

Update: Please note that I will offer paid hands on service to make this plugin work on your blog. Please contact me for information.
Back by popular demand is SeasonalCSS. I figured I needed to update it to at least work with modern WordPress installs. It is completely rewritten! If you are using an old version, you need to upgrade!

As with the old version, this plugin allows you to designate holidays and “seasons” and assign them custom styles. You know, like Google customizes their logo on holidays, etc.

New Features

  • Admin Integration
  • No manual configuration (files and source code)
  • Features calendar “point and click” interface provided by the good folks at dynarch.com (released under GPL license and included)
  • Works under WordPress 2.0 RC1. I don’t believe there is any functionality incompatible with 1.5+, but I don’t know.
  • Included 17 preloaded holidays (no styles assigned)

To Do (Roadmanp)

  • Issue logic such as “third Monday in March” or “the Thursday before the Last Friday of November”
  • Recurring holidays or seasons (e.g. “every January 1st”)

Install

  • Download seasonalcss.zip (md5 hash: BA2DF2C22BD62FE12078CFEC19B80BFE)
  • Extract the entire seasonalcss directory to wp-content/plugins
  • Activate
  • Configure in Options > SeasonalCSS

Note that this is the only place I will take support requests for this plugin. Please do not email me or instant message me for assistance with this plugin unless 1) you have beer for me, 2) you’re my wife (in which case you have no need for support for this plugin) or 3) you are my wife and you have beer for me.

Besides it’s better to work things out in public so more people can benefit.

Are you still working on this plug-in?
I have it installed right now, but I am also trying to modify it to do a little more. The biggest hurdle I am running into is reversing the String date. For example, turning Jan. 14, 2008 into 2nd Monday in January.

If you are still working on this and want me to send the changes I have made, let me know.
