I’ve never been real good about keeping New Years resolutions but after looking back on 2005 and looking forward to 2006, I decided it was time to keep a few.
So I’ve spent the past few days, between jobs and naps; empty pizza boxes and soda cans preparing to re-launch Emmense Technologies. I let it slide for the past year or so as I have lacked alot of dedication to a “job” that wasn’t making me any money — not that it is now, but I hope to change that.
The difference between the Emmense Technologies launched today and the one I’ve dabbled in for 5 years is focus. You’ll notice the tagline “Helping You Lead”. The key to my entire focus is in this tagline.
It’s true that customers will come to you and ask you to do work as long as you let them. There’s a certain degree of job stability in that. If you’re a really slick business person, you might commit some incidental sabotage hoping that they will need you more.
In the psychological world, that is called codependency and it is widely accepted as a dysfunction. Why do we assume that this is the proper modus operandi for a business? Sure, you create dependency and that generates money. But empowering the client to take the lead for themselves inspires them, gives them confidence and makes you look like a star!
In the new Emmense Technologies, which incidentally will continue to get a more polished look over the next few days, I am all about inspiring customers to achieve their best in whatever business or industry they are in. Much of that will be done through helping them see their potential with blogs. You Can Blog will provide a certain degree of authority to what I say, as will the longevity of this blog and the crazy ongoing growth of Emerging Earth.
Cross your fingers. It’s a word of mouth game. Pass along my name.
