Macworld 2006: Just got in to San Francisco
I arrived a few hours ago and it was a long trip. The flight was horrible.
I wonder that if it is me getting older and becoming more intolerant of crappy service or that the airlines suck this bad.
I have 150,000 miles on my account which are pretty much useless.
I check in and try to upgrade to first using my miles.
Apparently they are only taking paid upgrades – these 500 mile things would cost about $300 each way to upgrade me and the fact that I am only Premier, I am at the bottom of the list.
Since I just got status back I couldn’t even get an exit row.
I told the ticket guy that it didn’t show up on my seating arrangements and he said you have to be at a certain level.
Since when you redeem miles to get free trips they don’t count toward status, this whole mile thing is worthless.
As soon as I can I am selling my miles or using them for an insane trip so I can look at using another airline.
I am fed up with United.
I am signing up for an AMEX that has Starwood points. At least I have a chance to earn free room nights which is worth it to me since status doesn’t mean that much but paying $300 a night for a bed and shower does.
I haven’t mentioned a thing about Apple and Macworld, but I needed to vent.
If I can secure my Internet connection, I will be blogging live.
If you don’t see stuff appearing, there might be an Internet connection issue.
Hope fully getting there early should solve the problem.
