Podcast Transcription – Interim solution or necessary service?
Some search engines are gearing up to search audio, podcasts are difficult to search through on the Internet. Right now, most search engines don’t support searching the test contained in the audio of a podcast.
This means that people are at the mercy of the show notes or the show description that is searchable on the podcast directories.
It seems that a new service is eme hopes to help podcasters address this issue. PodTranscript is offering a free sample transcription of any 15 minutes of a podcast.
Pricing for PodTranscript is 30 minutes = $10, 60 minutes = $20, and 90 minutes = $30
My friend, Shahid has also launched a similar service called PodLifter and its pricing is $9.95 for 30 minutes and $18.95 for 60 minutes.
They are both competitively pricied and worth checking out.
I wonder what the half life of these services are once search engines are capable.
