There have been many post today (on just about every Blog I visited) regarding the new Google 90 Day Policy for Referrals. This is in reference to the change from paying the publisher $100 for any referral that crests $100 on their new AdSense account, to paying only if the referred publisher reaches $100 within 90 Days (in case you haven’t already heard).
Most of the posts just reported the change with a commentary on how they thought it would affect them. The comments on those posts reflected the fact that most publishers don’t make enough on the referrals to concern them. There were a few that were going to remove the AdSense Referral from their site in protest, however, most took a wait and see attitude.
Personally, I started using the chicklet on my Blog to give what few readers I had a direction toward a means of revenue. I never really expected too much income out of it. Since I am fairly new to the world of Blogging, I remember how difficult it was for me to get anything going. I needed advice and direction. I needed help in finding a way to make money. This is one reason why I continually try to provide others options, hoping they can learn from my mistakes.
Frankly, I would like Google to put a 180 day policy in affect or revert to the original policy altogether. But either way, my readers come first, and I will opt to keep the Referral Chicklet in hopes that it helps some of people that take the time to read my Blog.
