My good friend Duncan Riley has sold The Blog Herald a blog about blogging, the gossip of blogging and the who’s who of the blogosphere. This was coming for awhile and the sale has been much publicized through a high stakes public auction, a deal, a collapsed deal, another public auction and then a direct sale to a mysterious group of bloggers who will be made known by Monday or Tuesday. My role has been small through this process — basically doing the technical legwork to work with the new ownership to transfer the site and I did not even know the true identity until yesterday. That information stays under lock and key with me until such a time that the owners make it known, so I’ll ignore any inquiries to that effect. :-)
But this note is not about the sale as much as it is to wish Duncan the best in his efforts. I know he is looking forward to tackling other blogging challenges including b5media. Dunc’s a good guy, has known to garner the love of other bloggers through his abrasive western Australian ways, rile a few feathers along the way (thus his last name Riley). He’s continuing to blog elsewhere including his personal blog duncanriley.com. You can read his farewell entries here and here.
Update: Well there you have it. Blogmedia, Inc is the new owner. Congratulations to Matt Craven and company and wish you all the best of luck.
