Adsense Help: Filtering out Contexts

by Aaron Brazell on March 8, 2006 · 4 comments

Adsense is contextual advertising and so, by default, it feeds ads to a site based on the context of the content that it finds there. I need some help from some Adsense gurus out there.

Namely, I’d like to “block out” the sidebar of this blog from the view of the Adsense spiders. In other words, I don’t want Adsense to determine the context of the page based on content in the sidebar that may be completely unrelated to the entry or article on a page.

I can’t seem to find that information on the Adsense page despite having seen it as recently as yesterday.

Help?

I believe you are looking for this page on section targeting:

I’ve made use of it on all of my blogs and it works quite well once it kicks in.

Hope that helps :)
