Samsung A920

I mentioned awhile ago that I was drafted by Sprint to test drive their Samsung A920 multimedia phone.

Yesterday I recieved it by FedEx and set about using it. I have the phone for 6 months and plan to use it extensively.

The phone is extremely nice but contrary to the impression I recieved about the Sprint Ambassador program, the service is feature limited. None of the premium services are available to me which, in hindsight, makes sense. If Sprint can find a way to give their Ambassadors true full access, it would be better for them but undoubtedly some would take undue advantage of it.

The picture here on the left is one of yours truly with the most high resolution, high quality camera I’ve ever personally had in a phone. The camera is 1.3 megapixels with a camcorder as well.

The display is bright and colorful but I have to say that the rainbow colors and melodic tones when dialing is somewhat obnoxious. Fortunately, both features can be set to be more “normal”.

I haven’t gotten into everything yet, but I’ll keep playing and let you know how I feel after I’ve had the phone for a bit. My number is 816-352-2074 in case anyone wanted to drop me a line.
