Moodlerooms Meetup
After an excruciating trip to the dentist today where he did unmentionable things in my mouth (stop thinking dirty, folks!), I had the pleasure to meet with the Team from MoodleRooms.com today. MoodleRooms.com is a new startup here in Baltimore based on the eLearning open-source package Moodle, which I gave a cursory review last week. The main players in this endeavor are Tom, Gina, Sheila and Brian who look to be doing a fabulous job with a rare startup right here in Baltimore City.
I enjoyed the chat we had and I enjoyed fielding questions about backup solutions and outsourcing technology ventures as well as “shooting holes”, as Tom put it, in some other theoretical business plans they are weighing.
It was really good to meet with them and understand a bit more about their role in the coming landscape of not only learning, but technology and discovering common goals we have.

If by “Thinking Dirty” you meant cavities, fillings, and root canals, then by all means….shame on me :D
I’ve had plenty o’ Dentists lately, and I can sympathize with ya.
Seems they all go to thesame school of cruelty and poor chair-side manners.

When I worked for the Navy supporting the MEdical Service Corps, a friend of mine, an HM1 (First Class Petty Officer) often joked that Navy dentists should be included on the FBI terrorist watch list. :)

My last trip to the dentist I somehow, for the first time ever, developed a gag reflex, so it took twice as long…and hour of pure torment

Jesse-
You think that’s bad, I went in to see a dentist, I was about 13. It was the first time going in for a root canal. Seems I had a pretty bad molar that needed some “fixin’”. Long story short, the guy got in there, cleaned everything out, filled it in, patched me up, shipped me home. 6 hours later AFTER the novocaine wore off, seems that he somehow FORGOT to take ALL of the nerve ending out.
Yeah, screaming was only part of my ride back in to see the “quack”.
Golden Rule #1: If EVER you go in for a root canal… be sure the dentist removes ALL of the nerve endings. Then, once he’s completed his torture…you are free to harm him :)

The Moodlerooms team enjoyed our meeting with you, Aaron, dental side effects, notwithstanding!
You are definitely not the “average bear.” I’m certain when the dust settles your skills and passion for communicating and learning on the internet will intersect in some way with ours. I’m glad to have met you and enjoy reading Technosailor.

Thanks for stopping by, Gina. Hope all is well!! :)
