Racism and Soccer

Before anybody complains about racism and feeling discriminated against in this country, I ask them to read the commentary as it pertains to Europeans and soccer players. Absolutely despicable and disgusting behaviour.

It really is pretty sad how African Americans and Hispanics can complain about racism and how bigotted Americans are when you compare it to stuff like that where people just go absolutely ballistic.

I’ll give them that the post was loaded, and that kind of stuff is never going to be said without some debate, and debate is fine. but comments like this:

Well as an English Spurs fan I’m gutted, f— Northern Ireland

Are just sad. I can’t imagine how many comments even worse have been moderated…

That’s exactly the reason I hate soccer… People in England (and I’m sure the rest of the world too) take it far too seriously and become personally offended if someone says anything to the detriment of their team or one of its players…

There’s no room in any topic of conversation for that kind of rhetoric, and I can’t see the point in it… How is it getting a point across?
