Experimenting with Clicksor
I’ve been experimenting with a variety of means of monetizing my blogging. I’ve done this indirectly by co-authoring a book and I’ve been running some experiments with various advertising programs. The latest one I’m trying out is Clicksor and while the most lucrative money can be made by popups/popunders, I refuse to subject anyone to popups on any of my sites. I know you’re diappointed. Well… Okay, I might do that on entries greater than 14 days old to steal some clicks from those search engine folks that surf on in on a Google search and never come back. What’s this? A one night stand? Wham, Bam, Thank you ma’am? No love for me? Okay… I’ll steal your clicks. :-)
Close on the heels of that is inline advertisements in the content itself. I’m not sure how it works, but by putting the code on my site, Clicksor is autolinking various terms and presenting contextual advertisement in the body of the blog entries. I’m nto sure I really like this but I’m going to run it as a test for a week or two and see what happens.
I can easily write dissertations on the other two ad programs and why I am tired of them. For instance, Google Adsense is so erratic in terms of earnings and eveyone has been noticng a drop in payout rates. YPN is not working for me because after a month of running the ads, they are not serving contextually relevant ads… All mortgage and refinancing ads. Can that.

I shall be interested to find out how Clicksor worked out. I’m looking to monetize my blogs and websites and AdSense doesn’t seem to be doing it for me. I’d never heard of Clicksor so I appreciate the tip!

Clicksor rejected me on my political blog but it seems to already be having some conversion pluses on this blog. We’ll se how it goes.
