Happy Blogiversary, Jeremy Wright

Just a shout out to Jeremy who is celebrating his 3 year blogiversarry this week. Of course, in ways, it’s my three year blogiversary too. His blog, Ensight, was actually a group project to start with that was spearheaded by mostly Jeremy and I. At the time, I got bored of blogging and eventually he took it over and built himself quite a profile, secured a book deal to write Blog Marketing (aff) and eventually started b5media.

I think if you asked him, he’d probably tell you that the biggest thing he has taken from the past three years was learning how powerful a communication medium blogging is – particularly for businesses. He’s witnessed and consulted with companies teaching them that the biggest sales come from conversation and not through traditional marketing and he can point to companies like Disney, GM and Sun who have mastered this art of conversation through blogs that have propelled sales forward. Jeremy and folks like Scoble and Seth Godin were on the front line of this revolution – all within three years.

So happy blog birthday, Jeremy. May you have three more (even though you’re not writing as much).

Thanks mate, it’s been quite a ride. I don’t compare myself to Scoble and Seth, but I’ve enjoyed just about every minute of what blogging has brought me. There’ve been some negative points and some really, really negative ones, but overall it’s been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done.

And working with folk like you just puts the cherry on top ;-)

Just so there is no confusion, The Disney Blog, which you have linked to up in your post, is not an official blog for the Walt Disney Company. They do use blogs and wikis internally and use heavy PR to influences blogs and websites (like mine) to pimp their products (but hey, I wouldn’t be blogging about Disney if I didn’t already like the product).

Thanks for the link, hope this clears things up.
