Challenge to Duncan: Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is :)

My good friend Duncan is tootl-rooing over the Australian soccer team’s victory over Japan yesterday. Somehow he has it in his mind that because Australia beat Japan, they somehow have it in them to beat the number one team in the world, the team with 5 World Cup championships (2 in the past 3 Cups).

In the spirit of sportsmanship (and to prove that there is no way Australia will beat Brazil), I’m challening my good friend Dunc to put money where his mouth is and wager up on the game. I propose a $50 wager keeping it nice and legal and also because I don’t want him to break the bank.

So what say ye, Dunc? You going to man up? :)

Update: I intially sent him an email for a $30 wager and then proposed $50 here. We’re meeting in the middle at $40.

For what it’s worth, a Western Australian buddy of Duncan’s anonymously emailed me this picture of him prepping to watch the game at a local pub. Scary!duncaroo.jpg

Ohhhhh – that IS a very scary picture! Good luck Duncan, don’t wager away my paycheck. Unless you are damn sure you are gonna beat Aaron, that is. ;)

You could prove who knows more about world cup by joining the World Cup DAQ – http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldcupdaq/ – a game to buy and sell shares of the world cup teams.

Aaron, would you sign-up, join a league and compete against me? As long as you don’t spend all the $ in the US team, you should do fine.

You can even call it The Soccerati League :P Invites are open to everyone, just leave the #ID number of the WC-DAQ so I can add you to the league.

Well it is for two of the blokes at b5media anyway as they’ve managed to talk each other into a little wager on the outcome of the game.
It’s a real battle of the b5media behemoths too as Duncan Riley, one of b5’s founders and a hardc…
