Cruise Cancelled

Thank you all who have contributed money to my attending of the Blogonomics Cruise/Conference. It was a bit of a radical idea and I was seriously looking forward to it. Maybe next year. I’ve actually known that this was coming for quite some time. The cruise was cancelled. From the sounds of it, there just wasn’t enough interest or ability to commit from the scope of business bloggers to average bloggers.

I’ll be trying to fill my schedule with other things, like WordCamp in San Francisco next month, a one day WordPress packed day where hopefully I’ll make some good connections, have some facetime with developers, plugin authors and theme designers. It’s a little short notice (Matt posted 2 nights ago) so I’m not really sure I can get the money together, but we’ll see how it goes.

For those of you who have sponsored me for Blogonomics, please send me an email instructing me on how you wish to be refunded (Paypal, check, money order) and recipient address info.

Thanks for the sponsorship, even if the cruise did not happen.

It was a really tough decision, but when it came down to it there were not enough bloggers willing to invest in the event so far in advance. I, myself, am a procrastinator at heart, but cruise lines are not. Because of the timelines they imposed, we were not able to meet the deadlines on numbers that were required. Maybe next time.

Thank God I’m going to Cancun. I still get my Mexico experience :)

Cancun is awesome. Let me look at my “trip notes”… there was this awesome taco place. I got a lot of good places to eat for you if that interests you?

You can keep my big donation – I owed it to you for all the help you had given me anyway. Go buy a cookie. ;) I am super sad we aren’t cruising though! :(

Christina, Mike: Thanks. You are too kind. But I planned on refunds, so if you want them, claim them.
