Final Open Mic Friday Tomorrow

Just letting you know that tomorrow is your last opportunity to contribute to the tradition thats been running for the past 8 months or so. Tomorrow is your last chance to contribute to open-mic Friday, get your link backs to your own blogs, and generally share in the enthusiasm of Technosailor.com

We’ve been slowly going back to a one-man operation here. New focuses (foci), new style of writing, new drive for quality over quantity. As such, there’s been a lack of a mainstay here at Technosailor – guest bloggers.

I’d be interested in talking to folks about being a regular contributor here. Compensation is negotiable. I am not guaranteeing any position. Just fielding candidates in case.

A candidate will:

  • Be a good writer.
  • Have their own blog already.
  • Bring a different perspective to this blog than mine, but yet still tech, media, Web 2.0, social networking.
  • Preferrably a woman as there is not enough feminine beauty around here and we need to change that.
  • Be opinionated and lively, foster conversation.

Just kidding on the woman part, I think.

Anyways, open mic friday is tomorrow. It’s the last one so make it good.

Is this a lot like Liz Strauss’ Open Mic, but with a tech flava? Or is Open Mic a general b5media thing? :-)

I was doing it long before Liz was doing hers, I think. It’s not a b5 thing as this blog only became a b5 blog a few weeks ago.

Oh and I let people write posts. Liz just opens comments on any ttopic. Slightly different.

Well I’m no feminine beauty, and I’ve already registered. So how does this work? All I have to do is post before a certain deadline?

Post before midnight EST and send me an email. I’ll hit the publish button throughout the day.

Huh? Regarding what? I don’t think I’m talking about anyone…

    Hey Rico and Aaron,
No worries, Aaron’s Open Mic is about sending in finished posts. We do Open Comment Night using a mic. Ours night is live comments. Not the same in any way.

Aaron I’ll try to participate. If I can get some beauty and brains together in one post at some point. :P

  18. Aaron 12 August 2006 at 3:20 pm #

    Thanks Liz–

    OMF is over now… :)

But I was talking about a REGULAR contributor, not just one-hit wonders :)

  19. Aaron 12 August 2006 at 3:21 pm #

Well you’re a star, Liz. Don’t mean to make it sound like you’re a one hit wonder. hope you know what I meant. :)

  20. Liz Strauss 12 August 2006 at 3:22 pm #

Not hardly a star like you are, Aaron. But a series . . . that sounds series. When you do it again let me know, maybe we could come up with an idea.

  21. Rico 12 August 2006 at 3:29 pm #

Haha, I am in awe of two greats flattering each other. ;)

Aaron, will I be able to continue contributing to this blog? When’s the next OMF? :)

  22. Aaron 12 August 2006 at 3:30 pm #

Jesus…. I’ve never had so much interest in OMF! :p I ran it ever Friday for 8 months with little to no response… :)

Anyways, I don’t know when or if I’ll do OMF again because of said lack of interest. But we’ll see. I’ll probably host group writing projects in the future if there is enough interest.

  23. Rico 12 August 2006 at 3:39 pm #

Ah, hence the “Final” in the title. :( Well, I’ve blogged about my involvement, and I know at least two people who’re interested in writing. :)
