Calling for Katrina Photos

We are coming up on the one year anniversary and I’m looking to put together a photo blog to commemorate the event. It will not be an ongoing blog, but it will go on as long as necessary. Basically, this is a way to pay tribute to New Orleans, Mississippi and Alabama.

This will not be a political blog, nor will it be a means to exploit those who were victims.

This is intended to be a classy acknowledgment of those who were affected by the storm and the aftermath.

If you have photos that you are looking to share from the storm or the aftermath, and they are suitably tactful and sensitive to the victims of the storm, please send them to me at aaron [at] technosailor [dot] com.

This is an independent project. As of now, there is no intent to in any way monetize, though there may be a possibility that a fund can be setup to take donations for a gulf-coast charity. Sometimes the best tribute is not money, but a simple moment of silence and reflection.

Update: Each photo will be credited by name with a link back to the author. However, to avoid the appearance of link-baiting, providing PageRank benefits, etc, each link will have the rel=”nofollow” tag applied to the link. All images submitted will be licensed to the memorial on a non-exclusive basis indefinitely.
