Earlier today I posted an entry calling for photos having to do with Katrina, both during and after. Since then I have setup the site after having a number of conversations with bloggers from the gulf area and others who I respect. More information can be found at the site.
For long time readers (like, really long time readers), you may remember a photo site I had put up with photos from the members of the team who went to Pascagoula, Mississippi with me last September. I shut that site down a long time ago because of spam. however, since I own the domain I figured I should do something with it that was worthwhile and beneficial to others.
To that end, I’ve relaunched The Katrina Photos on WordPress (with spam protection!) and continue the call for photos. In addition, local Gulf Coast bloggers can request a link in the blogroll at that site.
This is a non-monetized group project and I hope that it benefits many in the gulf region in some way, even if very small.
Update: Due to lack of interest, this project is being shut down and the domain will be sold (hopefully).

What happened to all of the photos that were taken when you and the rest of “NG chosen ones” were there
I still have them but most are not appropriate for this project as this is not about a company trip, etc. Plus, I want other peoples pictures to share the experience more diversely – specifically from New Orleans.
