Posting in another man’s blog is like driving another man’s car

Do you understand what I’m saying? Have you ever driven someone else’s car? No matter how nice of a car it is, you just don’t ever quite feel comfortable driving it. Maybe it has a superfast engine, so you think you’ll punch it and find out what happens. But you don’t want to do that, because what if the transmission dropped? Let’s not find out.

So that’s what posting in the TechnoSailor is like for me. It’s like I’m driving my rich uncle’s Caddy. Sure, I want everyone to see me driving around in it, but I don’t want to scratch the damn thing for fear of what might be said to me. So I watch it. I drive a little bit slower than usual. I make extra sure that I have plenty of room when I park my post, if you get my drift.

Because no matter how fast this puppy goes, I’ll never know. Because the man asked me nicely to post in his blog. So that’s what I’m doing. No 120 mile per hour chase scenes for me. Just nice and easy highway crusing on auto-pilot.

First, I had to click because the shortened RSS link in Safari said “Posting in another mans blog is like driving annother man…”

    Outstandingly hilarious.

As one that has been honored to post here in Aaron’s stead and as a guest in the past, I can verify what Darren says about Technosailor here. You never ffeel quite comfy, watch what you say a lot more than you would on your own blog, and maybe don’t explore topics to the extent you would otherwise.

Still in all, great job Darren.

Thanks much, my man. And I assure you that the short headline was a mistake :)

It was just really funny to see that pop up in Safari like that. :D

    ROFL!

I can completely sympathize with ya Darren! However, a post abot posting in another man’s blog…

Wouldn’t that kinda be redundant? HeH

good work tho, couldn’t have said it any better

You keep the cruise control firmly set at 65 if you want. I’m going to punch it.

Don’t forget: selling your post is just as important as writing it.

Actually I’m sure people are reading them. The trouble is they aren’t leaving comments…

[...] Darren writes that posting to another mans blog is like driving another mans car, but I do have to disagree somewhat, because for me in a way it’s more like sleeping with his wife. Sure, you might get away with it, it can be fun, but when the owner/ husband gets home he might not be happy. [...]

[...] I know other’s who’ve been in Aaron’s backend probably feel the same way. I’ve had some of them comment about their feelings. Poking around in a strange backend is never easy stuff. You need to learn just how everything works. You don’t want to be too rough, but you have it give it just enough ooomph. I guess it’s an acquired skill after all. [...]
