September 11, 2001: How Do You Remember?

I’m back and I’ve wrestled all morning with my first post back. I want to talk about my trip and bring some thoughts that I’ve been thinking about while away. I want to share my photos and take good natured jabs at my guest bloggers who held the fort while I was gone.

But today is September 11 and I am sad. The Blog Herald is doing wall-to-wall September 11 coverage today, and I posted my very vivid thoughts already. I am walking around in a bit of a daze today. That day still stands very vividly in my memory. The horror is still very painful as I have close geographic ties to Washington, D.C. and I have strong ties to New York City going back to the late 1990s.

I will talk about Cancun in time, but this is your time. A mini-open Mic Friday. Feel free to leave your own thoughts, condolences and memories. Feel free to lay your emotions on the line. Whether you are an American or from a different country. That day, we were all Americans, as the French paper Le Monde said.

I just feel it’s the appropriate road to take today.
