This morning, after months of preparation, a few missteps, a huge surge and finally a launch, b5media is welcoming a new channel to the list of 14 other verticals we already have. Welcome to the six new Business blogs and bloggers. Two of the blogs, Slacker Manager and Copyblogger, are among the very limited number of owned blogs we have in the network and they are special wins for b5media.
First off, Slacker Manager. Brendon Connelly, or simply Bren, has been fabulous to work with from a tech perspective. All the owned blogs have a requirement that their blogs come into our cluster. Ultimately, we’re responsible as a network, for the uptime and availability and we have a number of services we use to track blog performance that make it necessary to be on our servers. Bren has been a dream to work with and to me, the best part of him coming on board is that he we stole him from 9rules. Steal might be a strong word. He came willingly and gladly.
Secondly, one of my favorite blogs, Copyblogger. Brian has been a long-time (long-time being defined as the past year) blogging contact of mine. I’d call him a friend, though he might call me a jerk. I don’t know. One of my favorite Brian Clark moment was in August when I was sitting in the lobby of the Hilton in San Francisco leeching free wifi with Dave Krug. David was having a chat with Brian over IM and Brian told Dave to tell “that conservative pie-face to have another drink” – or something to that effect. Obviously I had an effect. :-) And now he is with b5media. I’d like to think it was that moment of intimacy in the Hilton in San Francisco that did it for him. Heh.
Oh and Brian posted his thoughts on the b5media join.
So welcome to all the bloggers. There’s more blogs to come but that’s a pretty good splash if you ask me. You can find a new “Business” channel in the blogroll and explore all of the blogs.

I have never said “pie-face” in my entire life, but you got half of it right.
And like I said earlier… you’re ok with me… I don’t care what everyone else says about you. :)

You’ve never said “pie-face”? Wow, I would figure that would end up in your Copywriters book somewhere? :-)
