Suicide Fan Soft Launch

by Aaron Brazell on December 12, 2006 · 23 comments

A soft launch is when sites are setup and linked, and no attempt is made to hide the unlaunched site but yet an announcement setting the new site up for public visitation is not made. So technically, this is not a soft launch. However, it is not in it’s glory yet either.

I just want to get the site out there.

Suicide Fan is a sports website. It revolves around a weekly podcast. Tonight, I will be recording the first episode with Jason Thomas with a target post date of Thursday. Thursdays are my target day to release new episodes.

Jason is a local blogger I met recently and he is highly opinionated and understands sports. I’m hoping to have a few guys on regularly. Naturally, this is football season and much discussion will happen around football. However, through the year we’ll talk about different sports and hopefully have different guest hosts rotate in as well.

In between shows, I’ll post some sports news and content so the site will always have something fresh going on. Stop on by. Subscribe.

This site is my effort to break away from the soap opera that is the all-blogging, all-the-time genre. I’m not single dimensional so I don’t want my online persona to reflect that.

Update: I got trigger happy and went public with the first show tonight.

Cool! I hope that, even though you’re in Baltimore, there will be plenty of BoSox coverage.

When will you plan to launch it officially? How long do you recommend to allow for feedback and beta phase?

It is launched officially as of Tuesday night. What do you mean about feedback and testing?

I guess as you intro’d with talking about a soft launch I wondered if there was any rhyme or reason between the soft launch and official run. Either way it seems subjective.

Admittedly it is subjective. I see no real reason that it can’t be…

I thought the site was a tribute to doctor Kevorkian ;)

Looks pretty good though. Congrats on the launch!
