For someone complaining about negative linkbaiting etc. you're doing a hell of a lot of negativity here yourself. So you don't like Duncan? Big deal, get over it - I did.

"This is personal."

So leave it there - mind you got me with your linkbait so well done. Trying to inflate the stats before you leave?

Careful that you don't eliminate your standing by defaming me yourself, Duncan.

And I simply reserve the right to sue you for defamation. As for hanging out with me, it was only to feed back info , after all it was you who blocked me out of all of b5 backend 1 week before I was pushed, and as for talking to people within b5, you don't have access to my email, unless you're hacking into other sites, I still swap correspondence with a number of people from b5, many with far better ethics than you. If I'm a whore you're a prostitute for selling your morals for a quick buck. Quid Pro Quo.

I'll have to have a proper second read of what Duncan has said to see your point of view.

But ouch - your tone says you might be taking this furture if Duncan's tiade has affected your sale - I'll think I'll back away from this debate a little.

Not defending Duncan, but he has this gruff style of writing (and always has) - I got a feeling sometimes he writes first, then thinks later (if at all :-) ). I think as the b'sphere matures bloggers will have to be careful (even triple check their facts) before posting. The blogosphere is very commercial now and it's not the same as it was in '04 - people's businesses are at stake here.

The b5/Duncan thing is another matter - it's good that you were the only one left on talking terms -
more strange why Duncan would go after you in such a way.

You do know that there is a slowly developing ground swell of many folks wanting to know extactly what happened between the break up last year - I might bring back my journalistic hat back for a few days and show (how arrogant am I) how to do a bit of investigative journalism on this issue.

Anyway, Aaron - I wish you well in your sale and I hope things can be sorted out between you and Duncan.

I would add that people would like to extrapolate this to be a b5media-Duncan thing. I can assure you it is not. Up until yesterday morning, I was probably the only person within the b5 team that was on speaking terms with Duncan. When he was leaving the company, I was hanging out with him in NYC. This is not a b5media thing. This is personal. Public, yet completely personal. I was personally insulted by Duncan's post.

No, he really wasn't right, Martin. He made assumptions about that which he had no insight into and then recklessly put unsubstantiated untruths into the public domain, perhaps deep-sixing the sale. If I find that the sale of Technosailor was prevented due to actions by Duncan, I may have other options available to me.

I understand the principle you're trying to defend here, Martin, but it goes beyond principles at this point.

Aaron - the only problem I see, apart from the fact that linkbaiting can be both used well and poorly is that essentially Duncan was spot on this time.

I've just checked the SitePoint auction and it appears the big bid is gone and it's back to the original bid.

No matter what you think of Duncan baiting tactics, in this instance he was correct to question this.
