Many of my readers are non-Americans and frankly, and you need to get this… I’m not writing for you.

Fair enough. My guess, however, is that all of your readers can read English given that, until a week ago, all of your posts were in English.

It’s a shame that you want to take such a bias against non-English speakers. This world unfortunately for you does not revolve around you or me though.

The vast majority of the Internet consumers and content are in English. Sure, the Internet goes around the world. Why not post in Chinese, though? That’s certainly a much larger market niche than Spanish speakers? Presumably, because that’s not your target audience.

Running a site in multiple languages without disaggregating the feeds or content would seem likely to alienate the core audience. On the surface, mixing in posts that are unintelligible to the vast majority of your reader base would seem to be harmful to your brand. Maybe you’re on to something, though.

In any case, I apologize for the terseness of the original comment.

“This is America. We speak English here.” Please! Look around you. I doubt that you’ll ever speak anything other than English, but soon enough you’ll listen to Spanish as much as you listen to English… in the United States. Your insular attitude has done much harm to your country’s reputation across the world. Keep it to yourself.
