A big flashpoint over the past few weeks has been this business about the National Security Agency spying on American citizens, etc. Take my initial entry on the subject from Decmeber 19th where some of the pro-spying commenters made comments such as:

I know something that I can’t talk about. I found out about it today and I’m under non-disclosure… and it’s killing me. It’s killing me because it is such blatant abuse of governmental power that it sickens me. We will all know round about September if the timeframe for enactment holds up.
