Writing for B5 Media - Come on over to Startup Spark

May 1, 2007 - Comments

Hello all, just wanted to let you know that I have been offered an opportunity to write for a great blog on the B5 Media Network.
The blog is called Startup Spark and is similar to Venture Files but is a broader version on all types of entrepreneurship.
I invite you to check it out and subscribe. [...]

VentureFiles has returned from haitus

August 30, 2006 - Comments

Well, it has been a long hiatus and we are back.
For those of you, my loyal readers who are still subscribed, we will be publishing again and looking to expand the scope of this blog.
We are thinking about moving the blog to a more formal home but for now we will be syndicating our column [...]

A minute on blogging

February 13, 2006 - Comments

This week, I have switched over to using Qumana as my editor. The beta QumanaXP is pretty good.
I do however like Performancing for Firefox. It is one of the coolest extensions and if you don’t have it and you have a blog, you must run and install this one.
I am working on a redesign of [...]

Dear God - Thank you for Guy Kawasaki

January 7, 2006 - Comments

Guy Kawasaki is a really cool guy and he has posted this hilarious and insightful use of a VAIO and how he would create a dream Powerbook.
Since I am ready to get a powerbook and have lived in PC land for 15 years I couldn’t agree with him more.
Read the dream list here.

Cool AJAX Plugin for Wordpress

January 6, 2006 - Comments

There is a wicked cool plugin for Wordpress that I came across.
It is called Democracy. It is a poll plugin and it rocks.
They are using it on the Desperate Housewives site. Yes, someone told me it was there. No, I don’t read the blog.
I am going to try and get it running on VentureFiles ASAP.

    Twitter Pitch!

Twitter pitching is a form of pitch that requires succint "what does this mean for me" kind of pitching. It is the ultimate efficiency of words. You have 140 characters or less to tell me why your pitch matters to me or my readers. Please include a means of contacting you. This is included in your 140 characters. If you send successive pitches, you will likely be ignored, unless it's obvious that the first pitch was a case of "accidental send", etc.

This form of pitching does not mean I'm being a diva. It means that my time is valuable, and you want a piece of it. It's good practice for you, and delivers your pitch in a format I want. Win-win.
